Quality Assurance Engineer

Quality Assurance Engineer: You will be responsible for developing and implementing quality control methodologies to ensure compliance with software quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures in a large computer-based organization. Compliance includes Web Standards, accessibility assessment, and browser compatibility.


You will be part of an exciting program where you will develop and execute software test plans. Identify software problems and their causes, develop and maintain automated test scripts, and perform testing using automated test tools. You will conduct and/or participate in formal and informal reviews at pre-determined points throughout the development lifecycle.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Functional testing. Verify and validate the functionality of the applications.
  • Integration testing. Ensure major parts of the system work well together. Verify and validate the impact of the newly incorporated functionality.
  • Test the system without a GUI.
  • End-to-End testing. Verify and validate a complete flow of the application that mimics real-world use.
  • Regression testing: A re-test of all functionality both automated and manual.
  • Experience in some of the following: Building Testing Scenarios from Requirements; Requirements Review; Reading and using Use Cases; Developing Test Scripts
  • Experience reporting testing results in a clear, detailed, and analytical style using fact-based metrics
  • Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database structures
  • Knowledge of system integration
  • Understands the concepts of testing throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Proficiency in Release Management and Testing processes preferred
  • year experience in creating automation tests using data-driven and object-oriented processes or other OOD / OOP languages required
  • Experience using common industry standard test automation tools (i.e. Selenium, Cucumber, Jasmine, Load Runner) preferred
  • Experience in some of the following: Building Testing Scenarios from Requirements; Requirements Review; Reading and using Use Cases; Developing Test Scripts
  • Hands on experience with HP Mercury s Load Runner, QTP, and similar tools
  • Knowledge of XML, JAVA, and SOAP or related languages
  • A high degree of skill in troubleshooting, characterizing, and describing software defects
  • Functional and Performance Testing of CRM Applications such as Salesforce.com
  • Knowledge of SOA approach, SCRUM approach/methodologies highly desired.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or MIS, or equivalent experience.
